Disagree with a Board Decision? Here's What to Do

If you are a beneficiary and you believe the Board of Trustees has made an incorrect decision regarding the distribution of a death benefit, you have the right to challenge it.

• Communicate with the Fund: The first step is to formally contact the fund to request a detailed explanation of the Board's decision. This may clarify the reasoning and resolve the issue.
• The Pension Funds Adjudicator (PFA): If you are still not satisfied, you can lodge a formal complaint with the Pension Funds Adjudicator. The PFA is an independent body established to resolve disputes between members, beneficiaries, and their retirement funds. It provides a cost-free and informal process for resolution.
